Origins Awards Return for 2022
GAMA is proud to announce the return of the new and improved Origins Awards! Since 1975, the Origins Awards have been celebrating excellence in the tabletop gaming industry. Although we took a brief hiatus, we are ready to continue highlighting the amazing work industry professionals are doing. To align with our expanded membership, we have added a few awards to ensure the amazing work of artists and media professionals are also represented.
The Academy has received 300 submissions for the 2019-2020 Awards cycle, up from 81 submissions in 2018-2019 for a 370% increase. Most categories experienced a doubling of submissions, with some even quadrupling (specifically board and role-playing games).
The November 15 deadline to nominate your product(s) for the 2020 Origins Awards cycle is quickly approaching. In order to be considered, products must have been released between November 15, 2018 and November 14, 2019.
Applicants to the 2020 Origins Awards Jury were notified of their acceptance on Friday, October 11.
Based on the feedback we received from attendees, exhibitors, and Academy members after the 2019 Origins Awards cycle, we will be incorporating a few thoughtful changes in 2020.
We have been informed that Rick Loomis passed over the weekend. Rick was one of the founding members of GAMA and helped guide this association to the benefit of its members during his repeated time on the Board as President.
