Attention publishers!
The November 15 deadline to nominate your product(s) for the 2020 Origins Awards cycle is quickly approaching. In order to be considered, products must have been released between November 15, 2018 and November 14, 2019.
The purpose of the Origins Awards is to acknowledge excellence in game design and to help increase publicity and sales for the nominees, winners, the Origins convention, and social games in general.
The Awards Categories are:
Board Game
Card Game
Collectible Game
Digital Adaptation of a Physical Game
Family Game
Historical Game
Historical Miniatures Game
Miniatures Game
Role-Playing Game
Game Accessory
The top five nominees in each of these categories will be announced for the first time during the GAMA Trade Show on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 8-11pm at the Origins Awards Showcase. All attendees will be welcome to demo the final nominees and familiarize themselves with the titles.
The final winners will be announced at the 46th Annual Origins Awards Ceremony, on June 20, 2020 from 8-9pm at Origins Game Fair. This event is open to all press and attendees and serves as a great opportunity to celebrate your product!
Companies with nominated games will be asked to ship six copies of the product to GAMA by February 10, 2020. These copies will be used to promote and demo the games during both the GAMA Trade Show and Origins Game Fair. In addition, the winners will be promoted on social media, and featured in GAMA’s new quarterly trade magazine Around the Table. Both winning and nominated companies will receive a digital seal to use in marketing efforts at no cost.
