What is the time period within which products need to be released to be considered for the 2021 Awards Cycle?
Products must be available for purchase to consumers through retail channels (not crowdfunding fulfillment) between January 1, 2022, AND December 15, 2022.
What is the submission window for the 2022 Awards Cycle? Products may be submitted for consideration from October 1, 2022 to December 15, 2022. We will accept physical copies of the product until January 15, 2023, as we plan to announce finalists during GAMA EXPO 2023.
How do I volunteer to be on one of the Origins Awards juries? Please send an email to academysecretary@gama.org for more information. Make sure to let us know which of the juries you are interested in serving on and well as your industry experience.
Are crowdfunded products eligible for nomination?
Products that were successfully crowdfunded may be considered as long as they were released to retail channels within the specified time period.
Are reprints/variants/reskins of a previously-released game eligible for nomination?
For a product to be eligible for nomination, it must be a new release. This includes expansions and reprints that add new mechanics and gameplay that is distinctly different from any previously-released version of the product.
